Stratosphere is a secure web application for organizations that care about meeting strict data security and privacy requirements. Therefore, you should stay logged in unless you are actively using the system. Staying logged in too long would mean anyone who gains access to your devices would also gain access to Stratosphere and could take system actions in your name, without even needing your email or password. There are two methods to ensure this sort of unauthorized access does not occur. You can manually log out or let Stratosphere log you out automatically.

Manual Logout

Once you are finished with your current use of Stratosphere, you can manually log out, instantly ending your current login session.

  1. Select the user profile icon in the top right.
  2. Select "Log Out" from the menu to be taken back to the login screen.

Automatic Logout

Don't want to bother with manual logging out? No problem. Stratosphere will automatically log you out of your current session after either of the following:

  • 15 minutes of inactivity. Typing, clicking, and even moving your cursor while viewing a Stratosphere page counts as "activity".
    • You will receive a Session Expiring prompt when there is 1 minute to inactivity logout. You can opt to remain active and logged in by clicking "Continue working".

  • Closing all Stratosphere browser tabs and windows.
