TS086 Firmware Version 1.1.20w1 Release Notes

Date: 2/19/2021

Affected Models: TS086 Tag Encoding Device

Affected Serial Numbers: All

Firmware Version: 1.1.20w1

Release Date: February 16, 2021

Overview of changes:

TS086 firmware version 1.1.20w1 resolves the issue of a vendor’s RFID tag, other than the customer, from being encoded.

This is done by using a whitelist of those RFID tag EPCs that a customer currently uses and having the TS086 only re-encode those RFID tags that are in the whitelist to a standard prefix and serial number.

If new prefixes are required a new FW version with the added prefixes in the whitelist will be required.

Adds:

The device configuration file now contains a comma separated value whitelist in the firmware that has been specified by two tag prefixes that the customer is using to date. Prefixes that have been added are:

  • E2801160
  • A1CB1C

If additional prefixes are required, a new version of firmware will need to be created, adding to the CSV file in the device configuration file in the firmware. There is a maximum of 10 prefixes that can be added to the CSV whitelist.

When a product is placed on the unit and it has an RFID tag that matches the whitelist, the tag is encoded with the prefix + serial number.

When a product is placed on the unit and it has more than one RFID tag, one of which matches the prefix + serial number, the user interface will notify the user that the product is already encoded.

When a product is placed on the unit and it has more than one RFID tag, and only one of which matches the prefix and serial number, the user interface will not throw a ‘multiple tags’ error but will instead encode only that tag that matches the prefix in the whitelist.

When a product is placed on the unit and it has an RFID tag that does not match the whitelist, the user interface will instruct the user to add an RFID tag onto the product. That RFID tag must be one that has a correct prefix matching the whitelist.
